Showcasing New Technologies for Healthy Ageing
You are invited to this exciting event featuring new technology created by senior students and staff at the University of Auckland and industry partners. It will feature a range of cutting-edge technologies tailored for older adult support. This may include chatbots and conversational AI that provide companionship and health support; Demonstration of social human-robot interactions, AR/VR platforms for physical and cognitive rehabilitation; and sensor-based systems for fall detection, prevention, and monitoring of daily activities. Together, these tools highlight how intelligent, user-friendly technologies can transform ageing into a more empowered and connected experience. This is a transdisciplinary event featuring staff and students from computer science, engineering, bioengineering, medical and health sciences and the centre for co-created ageing Research.

Medical Software Regulatory Requirements - Te Tītoki Mataora and HealthTech Activator
Bringing medical software to market can be complex, particularly when regulatory expectations are unclear. This workshop is designed to help you confidently navigate the requirements for software in, and as, a medical device (SiMD and SaMD), before costly mistakes are made. Hosted by the HealthTech Activator and Te Tītoki Mataora, this workshop will be held in Auckland, on 14 May, 9am-3pm, with a pre-workshop webinar on 12 May, 11am – 12pm.

MedTech Showcase at Fale o Samoa, Māngere August 2026
Would you like to showcase your research project or start-up to the Pacific Community in Auckland? Register your interest here Te Tītoki Mataora, in collaboration with Pūtahi Manawa, Moana Connect, and Pacific-i, are organising a MedTech Explorer Showcase at Fale o Samoa in Māngere on 27 August 2026. This initiative is designed to bring together Pacific communities, healthcare professionals, secondary and tertiary students, and local providers to engage with emerging medical technologies developed by research groups and start-ups. The Explorer is an opportunity for people to walk around all the showcases, ask questions, and try out the technology.
